What are the scooter's braking mechanisms?

The Segway Ninebot MAX scooters have two brakes:
1) The handle bar brake lever, highlighted in red.
2) The rear manual brake which is activated by stepping on the rear fender.
The Acton scooters brake only with the handbrake on the left side of the handle bars.
