What is UL2272 Certification and why does it matter?
The UL certification requirement, enforced in New York City starting in 2023, ensures that products like electric scooters and e-bikes are designed to prevent potential battery fires. While our scooter design has always prioritized safety, particularly with our swappable battery packs enclosed in fireproof metal casings, the UL labeling process introduces a new inspection system. Under this system, a gold UL-certified label is placed on the product after approval, signaling to customers and authorities, such as building owners, property managers, and transit authorities, that the scooter meets these safety standards. Although your current scooter retains the same inherent safety and design features, the latest model includes this certification label, which may be required by some individuals and organizations.
