Why do app users get blocked?
There are a few different cases when your customers can find themselves blocked from using your service.
1) Too many profiles registered from one device - customers are being prevented from registering more than 5 profiles from one device ID in order to limit the fraud attempts potentially encountered by your service;
2) Repeated verification code requested too soon - this is a temporary block connected to the sms verification service for your apps that shows up for the customer in case they've requested a new verification code repeatedly in less than 60sec time. In case the user requested the code 3 times (with resend), the user is blocked for 12 hours.
3) Number of authorization attempts exceeded - this is a temporary block connected to the sms verification service for your apps that shows up for the customer in case they've exceeded the number of verification attempts. For example, if the user made 3 wrong attempts of entering the verification code, the user is blocked for 3 hours.
4) Number of authorization attempts exceeded from the same IP address - this is a temporary block connected to the IP address used to access your service. It shows up for the customer in case they've exceeded the number of verification attempts from the same IP address within 1h. After 1h the customer can attempt to log into the app or register in the app again.
5) Manual block - managed by you directly from the dashboard in case you conclude that the customer is attempting to commit fraud or has a big amount of debt with you and is not planning to return it, so you decide to prevent them from using your service further.
You can apply the manual block for the customer by going to the Customers section in the dashboard, choosing the particular customer and in the Settings for them on the top right-hand side choosing to Block them:
