Returning a scooter without the original box

You can still return a scooter without its original box, but it's a lot more work on your end and usually a lot more expensive.

Packing, weighing, and measuring

You'll have to find a sturdy box big enough for the scooter and pack it yourself, with enough padding that it can't shift around. A UPS Store or local shipping center can sell you a box and pack it for you, usually for a fee.

Once it's packed, weigh the box and measure its length, width, and height, rounding up to the next inch.

Starting the return

Start the return in our return portal, choose "No, I'll pack it in my own box," and enter the box's weight and dimensions. The portal prices the return label from those numbers and shows you the return shipping cost before you submit. Once the return is approved, we'll email you the prepaid label.

If your order is past the 14-day return window, the portal won't accept it on its own. Contact Levy Support first. If we approve the return, we'll reopen the portal for your order for 14 days.

What it costs

Carriers charge by box size as well as weight, so a box that isn't the original usually costs much more to ship. For a scooter, that's often well over $100, about double what it costs in the original box. It's still cheaper than buying a label yourself. The UPS Store can charge close to $200 to ship a box this size.

The return shipping cost and the restocking fee come out of your refund. Items that arrive damaged may not be accepted, so the scooter has to be packed carefully. See our full return policy.

If your scooter has a defect

Because a return without the box is this much work and cost, when the scooter has a defect we usually recommend a warranty replacement instead. The return shipping cost and restocking fee don't apply to a warranty replacement. Contact Levy Support to start a warranty claim before you start a return.
