The Battery Range is Lower Than Expected

What Range Should I Expect?

Levy's range calculator is a great tool to get an ideal of how different riding conditions interact with the expected range of a Levy. Details on several factors that affect the total range of a Levy Scooter are described further below.

Tires

One of the primary reasons people could experience reduced battery range is if one of the tires is low on air. Tubeless tires should be inflated between 50 - 60 PSI. Tubed tires should be inflated between 35 - 45 PSI. If you can press the tires inward with just the pressure of your finger it probably means that it's not fully inflated.

Age

It can be expected that consumable components like lithium-ion batteries will slowly fall below their original capacity after continued use. The typical estimated life of a lithium-ion battery is about 300 to 500 charge cycles. Based on your own usage, you may opt to swap out your battery sooner. Levy is one of the few scooter companies that makes replacing the battery possible and even easy. We encourage you to take advantage of this unique perk to keep your scooter riding like new for as long as possible!

Temperature

All lithium battery types will suffer performance decreases in cold weather.  Cold temperatures increase the internal resistance and lowers the capacity. A battery that provides 100 percent capacity at 80°F will typically deliver only 50 percent at 0°F.
