Can I manually kick push the scooter when the battery dies?

Yes, when the scooter is turned off the motor is fully disengaged and the scooter can be safely ridden as a manual kick-push scooter. There is a slight drag due to the weight of the front motor but no braking that is engaged when the scooter is off or dead. Brakes will not engage if the brake handle is not squeezed. If the scooter turns off or is turned off while moving, the scooter will continue to move until brakes are engaged by the rider. Kicking can also be used in conjunction with the scooter's motor to tackle steeper hills or to increase the acceleration from a stand still. If the throttle is not engaged the scooter can be kicked forward without use of the motor.
