Creating Parking areas with Levy Fleets

Levy Fleets supports a flexible and robust approach to handling pickup and drop-off locations using advanced geofencing technology. Here are three main configurations you can utilize, depending on your city's preferences and operational needs:

  1. Free-Floating:
For fleets with city permits allowing vehicle parking on public property, minimal zoning restrictions are applied. Large geofences can cover broader city areas, enabling users to conveniently end trips almost anywhere within these boundaries via the Levy App.

  2. Geofenced Parking Zones:
If your city requires vehicles to be returned to specific locations, you can set precise geofenced zones around designated spots like storefronts, hotels, or other landmarks. Users must return their vehicles to these clearly marked areas before they can end their trip, ensuring organized vehicle management and compliance with city regulations.

  3. Docking Stations:
Some cities or operators prefer vehicles to be returned to physical docking stations. Levy Fleets integrates seamlessly with top docking station providers, allowing scooters to automatically lock and recharge upon trip completion.

Creating and Managing Parking Zones:

Parking zones are essential, as they determine exactly where trips can be concluded. Without defined parking zones, users cannot properly end their rides. Regardless of whether you choose city-wide zones or targeted locations, the configuration process is straightforward:

  • Parking zones are created using our backend dashboard by drawing boundaries directly onto Google Maps.

  • Simply outline the desired area using line segments until a complete, enclosed geofence is formed.

  • GPS accuracy typically ranges within 150-200 feet. To account for this, we recommend extending the geofence boundaries approximately 200 feet beyond the intended perimeter to ensure reliability.
